Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Holy Yoga classes are a group, beginner-friendly, Hatha based yoga flow where we focus both on physical postures and spinal alignment with a meditative focus on Biblical scripture and prayer. The flow is done to soft worship music, classes typically begin and end with scripture being read, and points in the class where attention is brought back to the "intention/scripture". This class gives you all of the physical and mental benefits on yoga while also drawing you in deeper in your faith and relationship with Christ.
At graceful wellness we firmly believe that Christ calls us to "honor our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit" and we do so by staying active and flexible so that we may carry the gospel wherever Christ calls us to. The very word "yoga" means "to yoke" or "bring together" and in these classes, we bring together our breath, movement, and minds to honor God.
Our non-Holy Yoga Gentle classes are similar in structure but with more focus on the physical benefits of yoga. These classes are done to soft instrumental music with a self-set intention. Meaning you could still choose to focus on a biblical, Christ-centered intention on your own or just simply focus on relaxing and slowing down.
The flow is very similar to the Holy Yoga flow, very alignment focused and beginner friendly.
This class is for yogis who are more advanced and confident in their practice. It is a faster paced, fitness-focused class where we explore more advanced postures, binds, and breathing techniques. It is done to upbeat and current music.
*I recommend taking at least three Gentle or Holy yoga classes before joining in a power yoga class or speaking with me prior to joining to make sure this is the right choice for you.
